Course Content

This combined refresher course is designed in line with current Regulations, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards for confined space work, atmospheric testing, and working at heights. It covers the essential knowledge and skills for anyone required to revalidate their competency in these high-risk tasks, including:

• Legislative and regulatory requirements for confined space entry, gas testing, and working at heights
• Hazard identification and analysis specific to confined spaces, hazardous atmospheres, and height-related tasks
• Conducting risk assessments and implementing effective control measures across all three areas
• Issuing and complying with confined space entry permits
• Roles and responsibilities of the confined space team, including stand-by persons and entrants
• Using gas detection equipment to test and monitor atmospheric conditions (before and during entry)
• Interpreting gas test results and responding appropriately to atmospheric hazards
• Selection, inspection, and correct use of fall prevention and fall arrest equipment
• Installing and using fall protection systems, signage, and barricades in accordance with safe work procedures
• Emergency response and rescue procedures for confined spaces and working at heights
