- RIIWHS202E – Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
- MSMWHS217 – Gas Test Atmospheres
- RIIWHS204E – Work Safely at Heights
It ensures you remain up to date with the latest safety practices, industry standards, and legislative requirements.
Whether you’re a tradesperson, maintenance worker, supervisor, or contractor, this course reinforces the critical skills and knowledge needed to:
- Work safely in confined spaces
- Identify hazards and conduct atmospheric testing before entry
- Correctly select, inspect, and use fall prevention and fall arrest equipment

Course Content
This combined refresher course is designed in line with current Regulations, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards for confined space work, atmospheric testing, and working at heights. It covers the essential knowledge and skills for anyone required to revalidate their competency in these high-risk tasks, including:
- Legislative and regulatory requirements for confined space entry, gas testing, and working at heights
- Hazard identification and analysis specific to confined spaces, hazardous atmospheres, and height-related tasks
- Conducting risk assessments and implementing effective control measures across all three areas
- Issuing and complying with confined space entry permits
- Roles and responsibilities of the confined space team, including stand-by persons and entrants
- Using gas detection equipment to test and monitor atmospheric conditions (before and during entry)
- Interpreting gas test results and responding appropriately to atmospheric hazards
- Selection, inspection, and correct use of fall prevention and fall arrest equipment
- Installing and using fall protection systems, signage, and barricades in accordance with safe work procedures
- Emergency response and rescue procedures for confined spaces and working at heights
Assessment Method
Knowledge based questionnaires and practical demonstration.
Pre-requisites
Must have
basic English literacy skills
Evidence of previous statement of attainment for the following:
- RIIWHS202E - Enter and work in confined spaces and
- MSMWHS217 - Gas test atmospheres and
- RIIWHS204E - Work safely at heights
- no older than 5 years.
Academic Award & Recognition
Upon successful completion participants will be issued with the following Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment:

CTF Pricing For Eligible Customers
$102.00 payable after CTF has been applied.
This subsidised rate is available to eligible companies under our bulk billing arrangement with the Construction Training Fund (CTF).
Individuals may still be eligible for the subsidy; however, they must submit their claims directly to CTF, as we are unable to claim on their behalf. For more information about the individual claim process, please contact CTF directly.
CTF provides funding support to assist with the training of eligible workers in the construction industry. We acknowledge the CTF’s contribution in helping reduce training costs for eligible participants.
